Apple Sold Too Many iPhone 3Gs; being sued

It looks like Apple is the object of many a lawsuit right now. Another unhappy iPhone 3G customer has filed a lawsuit against both Apple and AT&T. The reason? Apple sold too many iPhone 3Gs. Seriously.

William Gillis filed the lawsuit after being displeased with the iPhone 3G's performance. But his complaint doesn't stop at the iPhone's inability to perform. Rather, he's suing because, as he claims, the iPhone 3G was oversold even though Apple and AT&T were fully aware that doing so would overload the network's capacity.

As you might remember from last week, we told you that the iPhone 3G wasn't able to keep 3G signals sometimes because it was asking for too much signal strength from the network towers, causing dropped calls and all sorts of other problems. This suit is seeking class action status, so if it goes through, all iPhone 3G customers in California that had problems could be eligible.
